Overview
In this class, we will learn about how tea consumption positively affects physical, mental, and even spiritual health. We will examine ancient and modern perspectives; first exploring tea’s healing benefits in the context of ancient Chinese culture and Chinese medicine and then summarizing how cutting-edge science demonstrates these effects. In addition to gaining insight into the different perspectives on tea’s health benefits, the class includes insight into how the tea industry can walk the fine line between the limits on claims enforced by the US Food and Drug Administration and still convey to the public the many positive benefits that drinking tea can bring into our lives.
